Wayne sets his sights on the Kings of Wanneroo

Kings Logo 2014

Kings of Wanneroo event to be held on November 1st & 2nd at Barbagallo Raceway Wanneroo. The event is now only conducted every two years and has attracted some of the best riders in the country in previous years.

With Maxwell leading both of the Australasian Superbike Championships with only one round remaining that is set down for later this month, he will head to Barbagallo Raceway as the favorite to take out this event before heading to Sydney Motorsport Park later this month.

Wayne has a very strong connection with the track via his role at Champions Ride Days who have regular ride days at the circuit. There is a few prestige events that Wayne would like to win before his career is over, the Kings of Wanneroo is on that list.

The Kings of Wanneroo has seen riders such as Jeremy McWilliams, Johnny Rea, Michael Laverty, Guy Martin, Jamie Stauffer, Bryan Staring and Shannon Johnson compete in previous years. Glenn Allerton won the inaugural Kings of Wanneroo in 2008 and then the following year it was won by Johnny Rea. In 2010, the home town rider Bryan Staring took the title ahead of Jamie Stauffer in a close racing affair.  Bryan Staring returned in 2012 to win the event for the second time ahead of Shannon Johnson.

Wayne said: "I am pleased to be heading over to Wanneroo for this event, it's been one of the events on my to win list.  Can't wait to jump on the Champions Ride Days Honda CBR1000 for this event, very happy that my regular mechanic Warren will join me, this should make setup time a lot easier"

We will head over on the Wednesday and run our Champions Ride Day Event scheduled for Thursday before focusing on the weekend.
